Italian Craft Distillery Inspired by Pop Culture

Distilleria Mezzanotte is Pesaro's first craft distillery, founded in 2021 by Alex Bartolucci (Master Distiller) and Giacomo Bracci (Art Director).

Mezzanotte Spirits is our independent brand born from a passion for quality Italian spirits, pop culture, and the desire to tell authentic stories through artisanal gins, amari, liqueurs, vodkas, and absinthe.

A dream born at midnight

In 2020, while the world paused, we decided to dream: we wanted to create something of our own, authentic, and narrative.

Thus, Distilleria Mezzanotte was born, a stone's throw from the sea in Pesaro, where craftsmanship, technology, and storytelling meet.

Who is behind Mezzanotte

Alex Bartolucci – Master Distiller

Born in 1989, Alex grew up surrounded by family cooking and scents. His passion for distillation came from his grandfather, who secretly distilled grappa in the cellar, and was strengthened by experiences in Italy and Australia.

Today, he leads production: he selects botanicals, creates recipes, and distills, blending modern and traditional techniques, with his companion "Percival" — a Müller Brennereianlagen handcrafted still — and high-tech, Swiss-precision instruments like the Büchi R-300 Rotavapor.

In 2025, he became the first Italian Master Distiller admitted to the Gin Guild in London, with the title of Warden Rectifier.

Giacomo Bracci – Art Director

Born in 1988, Giacomo has a background in graphic design, branding, and photography for Cultural Heritage, with years of experience in high fashion across shoots, social media, and high-end retouching.

At the distillery, he handles communication and visual identity, designs labels, and transforms each bottle into a small graphic journey inspired by anime, video games, and mythology.

In 2025, he became the first Italian Art Director to receive the title of Warden Nominated Rectifier from the Gin Guild in London.

Every Detail Counts

We produce everything in-house, without third-party contractors. We only use selected botanicals, operate with 100% renewable energy, and limit waste. Every recipe is born from a story or legend: the cocoa in Gin Mezzanotte recalls childhood, oranges evoke teenage summers, lime the desire to explore.

A commitment that starts from scratch

We chose to start from scratch, designing every phase of our activity with the aim of minimizing our environmental impact . Every choice, for us, is a step towards a more sustainable future.

100% Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technology

Our distillery is powered entirely by electricity from renewable sources , completely eliminating the use of fossil fuels for both heating and equipment.

A concrete example of this philosophy is our 230-liter Müller Aroma still , the beating heart of the distillery. This electric still stands out from traditional Italian solutions, which often use flame stills powered by methane gas, with a greater environmental impact. We have chosen a more sustainable alternative, investing in a technology that respects the environment and guarantees optimal efficiency.

Sustainable packaging: Helium Mixology & Berlin Packaging

For our spirits we have chosen Helium Mixology , the bottle developed by Berlin Packaging with a sustainable mindset:

• Made from lightweight, half-flint glass, it contains up to 75% recycled glass , ensuring an innovative look without compromising on quality.
  
• The calculation and reduction of the carbon footprint of Helium Mixology bottles, as well as the compensation of residual emissions, are achieved thanks to the support of certified carbon offset projects promoted by ClimatePartner .

Safe and sustainable shipping: our NakPack boxes

Even the shipments of our spirits are designed to leave a light footprint on the planet. We use NakPack boxes , designed to protect the bottles and nature at the same time:

• Certified and recycled materials: Made of FSC certified cardboard, sourced from responsibly managed forests, and composed of up to 80% recycled paper.
• Completely recyclable and plastic free: NakPack packaging is free from synthetic glues and 100% plastic free, with grade A compatibility according to the Aticelca system.
• CO₂ reduction and compensation: NakPack supports reforestation and emissions compensation projects in collaboration with organizations such as Treedom, for a truly virtuous cycle.
• Smart Design: “Less is more” philosophy reduces waste and uses only the amount of paper needed to ensure safety and protection.
• Reusable: The boxes are designed to be reused, extending their life and further reducing environmental impact.
